eHarmony Acquired By ProSiebenSat.1
Los Angeles-based online matchmaking site eHarmony has been acquired by German company ProSiebenSat.1, ia an acquisition by ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiaries The NuCom Group (NCG) and PARSHIP ELITE Group (PEG). According to ProSiebenSat.1, the acquisition of eHarmony will help it expand its Commerce segment internationally. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the companies. ProSiebenSat.1 Group is a major German entertainment and media firm, which also has a e-commerce business arm. eharmony was founded in 2000, and is well known for its computer-driven algorithms to match the interests and personalities of its users. eharmony has a reputation for a very high number of marriages from users of its platform. According to ProSiebenSat.1, eharmny CEO Grant Langston will continue to manage the business, with PEG management joining the board of eharmony with the deal.
