eEye Ships New Security Appliance
Irvine-based network security software firm eEye Digital Security said Monday that it has shipped a new, network vulnerability assessment and tracking appliance. The new product, the Retina Appliance 651, is an effort by the company to provide network discovery and vulnerability assessment for small to large organizations. The appliance combines eEye's Retina Network Security Scanner, Iris Network Traffic Analyzer and Blink Professional Host-based Intrusion Prevention solution in a single, Windows XP Embedded-based piece of hardware. The firm said the pricing for the appliance starts at $2,495. eEye's appliance is similar to many other software appliances, which are used by software companies to ease deployment of their products.
