EdgeCast Networks Raises $10M
Santa Monica-based EdgeCast Networks, a content delivery network (CDN) provider, is announcing today that it has raised $10M in a Series C funding round. EdgeCast said the round was led by Menlo Ventures, and also includes an investment from Steamboat Ventures, a prior investor in the company. The new funding will go towards developing and launching new value-added services, expand its network, and for sales and marketing. EdgeCast said it reached profitability in Q4 of 2009, and according to Anthony Citrano, VP of Communications at the firm, the new round is a true growth round. As part of the funding, Pravin Vazirani of Menlo Ventures has joined the company's board of directors. More information »
