EDF Renewables Wins 212MW Solar Install Deal In New York
San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewables North America reported Tuesday afternoon that it has been awarded a contract for a 212 megawatt (MWdc) project in New York State. According to the company, the 212 megawatt (MWdc) / 170 MWac Morris Ridge Solar Project is with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), near the Town of Mount Morris. EDF Renewables did not say how much the contract is worth. The new system is expected to start delivering electricity by the end of 2022. The solar project is one of a number that are aimed at meeting a New York State goal of achieving 70% of the state's electricity from renewables by 2030. The new project is expected to provide enough energy to meet the consumption of 39,000 average New York homes.
