E3 Expo Cancelled Over Virus Fears
The E3 Expo, the video game industry gathering which had been scheduled for June 9-11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, has been cancelled, as a result of the global COVID-19 virus outbreak. According to the organizers of the event, E3 2020 has been cancelled over concerns for the health and safety of everyone in the industry, including fans, employees, exhibitors, and partners. E3 Expo said it will provide full refunds to exhibitors and attendees. The event is just one of thousands being cancelled nationwide, including such major events as SXSW, due to growth of the lethal COVID-19 virus, which has killed thousands so far. Experts say that the death rate for the virus is between 1% to 4%, far above the 0.10% of influenza, with particularly grave prognosis for older adults.
