Dreamhost Battles DDoS Attack, Plays Hot Potato With Neo Nazi Site
Los Angeles-based web hosting provider Dreamhost apparently is the latest ISP to get caught up in the game of "hot potato" with neo-Nazi, white supremacist website The Daily Stormer. According to a post by the founder of The Daily Stormer, Dreamhost booted the website earlier today citing its terms of service. The Daily Stormer reportedly had resorted to using the "dark web" after it was booted from GoDaddy and Google last week. In what may or may not have been related to either The Daily Stormer or to its legal efforts to push off Department of Justice requests for the visitors to an anti-Trump website, Dreamhost also apparently spent much of Wednesday dealing with a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack and name server issues. Dreamhost had just celebrated a win in pushing back on a subpoena, filed by the Department of Justice, requesting the IP address of every single visitor to DisruptJ20.org, around that group's organization of protests at the Presidential Inauguration.
