Disney Jumps Onto iPad Bandwagon
Burbank-based Walt Disney Company announced late Thursday that the studio will be debuting a number of applications for Apple's iPad, as Apple gets set to deliver the devices to stores this weekend. Walt Disney said that Marvel Comics, ABC, ESPN, and Disney will offer a wide range of applications, video games, and content specifically for the iPad, including Marvel comic books; video content from Disney; episodes of ABC series; read-along stories from "Toy Story"; and much more. Bob Iger, Prseident and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, said in a statement that the iPad "provides a very compelling consumer experience, and we are pleased to have new forms of original, interactive content on this great device." Disney is one of the more prominent firms putting focus on its iPad efforts; there are thousands of other applications expected to debut alongside the Apple device at launch.
