Disney Interactive Buys Chinese Video Game Firm
Glendale-based Disney Interactive Studios said Monday that it has agreed to acquire Gamestar, an independent video game software firm based in Shangai and Wuhan, China. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Disney Interactive said that Gamestar will provide talent for the firm's global growth plans. Six year old Gamestar provides art and technology for the interactive entertainment industry, and employs more than 90 people. The acquisition is the sixth for Disney Interactive. Disney's other five game studios are Avalanche Software, Fall Line Studio, Propaganda Games, Black Rock Studio, and Junction Point Studios.
