DATAllegro Acquisition Completes
Aliso Viejo-based DATAllegro is now officially part of Microsoft, Microsoft said Tuesday, and will become part of Microsoft's SQL Server offering. Microsoft, which announced its acquisition of DATAllegro in July, said that it will retain most of DATAllegro's team and headquarters in Aliso Viejo, and make it a "Center of Excellence" for data warehousing. DATAllegro's CEO, Stuart Frost, remains with Microsoft, as well as what Microsoft describes as a majority of its key executives. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Microsoft said that DATAllegro's technology will show up in Microsoft SQL Server through community technology previews (CTPs) within the next 12 months, with full product availability scheduled for the first half of 2010. DATAllegro was venture backed by Adams Capital Management, Focus Ventures, Intel Capital, JAFCO American Ventures, Palomar Ventures, The Hillman Company, and Venrock Associates.
