Clearwire Targets LA For 4G Network
Clearwire, which is deploying a WiMax-based, 4G wireless network nationwide, said today that it has added Los Angeles--along with another six markets--to its list of cities it will provide its mobile broadband service into. Clearwire said it would roll out coverage sometime this year in Los Angeles, although the firm did not provide details on exact coverage in the city. Clearwire is using WiMax--a long distance, wireless protocol originally targeted as a replacement for Wi-Fi--to build out its own data network.
