Clarify Medical Gets $3.6M To Treat Skin Conditions
San Diego-based Clarify Medical, a developer of a handheld medical device used to treat psoriasis, eczema and vitiligo, has raised $3.6M in a funding round, the company announced today. The startup--whose Chairman is David F. Hale--said the funding comes from both existing and new investors. Names of those investors were not announced. Clarify Medical's CEO is Jim Sweeney, who previously founded CardioNet. The company said the funds go towards the introduction of its handheld, mobile ultraviolet light (UVB) treatment system, which is used to clear skin lesions in patients with chronic skin conditions.
