Chatsworth Products Jumps On AI Bandwagon
In a sign of the eagerness to jump on the artificial intelligence bandwagon, Simi Valley-based Chatsworth Products--a maker of enclosures, racks, mounting hardware, cable management products, and more--says it has launched some products specifically for meeting the need for GPU and AI-based applications. According to the company, its new high-power rack PDU configurations are specifically designed to meet the need of applications running the chips and systems that power AI. The company said the enhancements to its existing line of eConnect PDU products are specifically "designed to support...high-power densities". The rapid increas in AI computing equipment is expected to drive very large increases in data center power demand, with a recent Goldman Sachs report saying "On average, a ChatGPT query needs nearly 10 times as much electricity to process as a Google search".
