Central Desktop Sees Q4 Increase

Pasadena-based Central Desktop said today that it is among the local firms seeing great results from Q4, despite the economy. The firm said its Q4 was "a record quarter" for the firm, which provides software-as-a-service tools for helping business teams manage projects and work. In a conversation with socalTECH, the firm's CEO and co-founder, Isaac Garcia, said the company had a record November and December, speculating that the economic environment actually drove adoption of its products. Garcia said that with the economic downturn and layoffs, he suspects there's been a push towards more virtual workers. "Many companies are having their workers work less hours, from home, instead of laying them off, and that's driving people to use Central Desktop for remote management," Garcia explained. Garcia reported that it added ten mid-market customers in December, including consulting firm IBI Group and human resources management firm Workday. The strong growth over the last year has more than tripled Central Desktop's staff, to 22 employees, Garcia reported. The firm is privately held.
