Broadcom Ships RAID Software Targeted at IT Security
Irvine-based Broadcom (www.broadcom.com) has shipped an enhanced version of the company's XelCore RAID Software. The company's RAID software stack is used to create multiple mirrors of data, and is designed to specifically protect against viruses and worms by providing hidden copies of data. That data is are only available to administrators. The company's RAID software provides RAID capability, online expansion, and multiple controller support, and is part of the RAIDCore technology Broadcom acquired in January.
