Boingo Ties To iTunes, iPad
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, which operates a network of Wi-Fi hotspots, said today that it is now allowing iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad users to buy wireless service through a new application. According to Boingo, it has created a new app--available on the Apple App store--which allows users to purchase Wi-Fi credits at its worldwide network of hotspots. The new app is called"Boingo Wi-Fi Credits." In a related move, the firm said it will be supporting the new Apple iPad from day one of its release, on its existing wireless plans. Boingo operates a network of over 125,000 hotspots--a combination of its own Wi-Fi operations and partnerships with other Wi-Fi hotspot operators--accessible via a single login and billing plan.
