Boingo Expands Network In Brazil
Boingo, the Wi-Fi network operator, said today that it has inked a deal with a Brazilian Wi-Fi provider to extend its network in that country. The Los Angeles company said that it has tied with Linktel, the operator of a network of Wi-Fi hotspots in Brazil, to add more than 1,400 hotspots throughout Brazil. Financial details of the link were not announced. Boingo said it now has nearly 3,000 hotspots in Brazil. Boingo operates a network of Wi-Fi hotspots, managed through partnerships with other network operator, which provide unified billing and roaming access. Boingo said its wholesale partners, which include Orange France, TeliaSonera, Skype, LGU+, Korea Telecom, and Verizon, also will have access to the new hotspots. The deal also provides Linktel's customers with access to Boingo's global network.
