Blizzard: World of Warcraft Cataclysm Sells 3.3M Copies In 24 Hours
Irvine-based game developer Blizzard Entertainment reports this morning that its newest title, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, has sold 3.3 million copies through its first 24 hours of release. The firm said the sales record makes it the fastest-selling PC game of all time, beating its prior record of 2.8 million copies of its November 2008 release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. Blizzard released the new, MMORPG game on December 7th. Blizzard said it has more than 12 million players globally playing World of Warcraft.
