Blackstone, UC System Expand Entrepreneurship Program
Private equity investor Blackstone, through its nonprofit, charity arm--the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, and the University of California system are expanding their efforts to boost entrepreneurship at schools, based off of the success of the program's efforts in Los Angeles at the University of California Los Angeles. According to Blackstone and the University of California, they are expanding their Blackstone LaunchPad powered by Techstars program with $5M, and expansion to more UC campuses. The Blackstone LaunchPad program has been operating at UCLA since 2014. According to the two, that program has so far reached more than 8,000 students and served more than 800 startup ventures.
