BayWa r.e. Breaks Ground On 133.6MW Solar Project
Irvine-based renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. Solar Projects said this morning that it is breaking ground on a new, 133.6 megawatt solar power project in North Carolina. The company said that the Fern Solar project in Edgecombe County, North Carolina is the largest project it has developed and built to date in the United States. The company said the plant will produce and estimated 238 gigawatt hours of clean energy annually, enough to power approximately 12,000 homes in North Carolina. The company says the project features more thna 353,000 high performance photovoltaic panels.
