Autobytel Sells AIC Business
Irvine-based Autobytel has sold its Automotive Information Center (AIC) business to R.L. Polk & Co., the firm said today, as Autobytel looks to focus on its Internet business. Autobytel, which had previously announced that it was looking at strategic alternatives for AIC, did not disclose purchase terms. Autobytel will continue to license the use of AIC data with its Internet businesses. R.L. Polk & Co. is a provider of automotive information and marketing products; Autobytel provides an online consumer-focused automotive marketplace. Autobytel's AIC business provided price and specification information.
