Arkeia Software Buys Deduplication Firm
San Diego-based Arkeia Software announced today that it has acquired Kadena Systems, a developer of data deduplication technology. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Arkeia, it will integrate Kadena's deduplicaton technology into its Arkeia Network Backup product. The firm said the addition of the technology will provide source-side, data deduplication for its software, which will accelerate backup and reduce network congestion. Tamir Ram, former CTO of Kadena Systems, will join Arkeia as Chief Architect as part of the deal.
