Amonix Taps Flextronics For Manufacturing
Seal Beach-based Amonix, which designs and manufactures concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) solar power systems, said this morning that it has tapped Flextronics as its manufacturing partner. Amonix--which is backed by Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers, Adams Street Partners, Angeleno Group, PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund, Vedanta Capital LP, New Silk Route, The Westly Group, and MissionPoint Capital Partners--said that the use of Flextronics will reduce the firm's time-to-market, and allow it to rapidly scale its business. The firm said that it will be using Flextronics' manufacturing capabilities in California. Flextronics raised a huge, $129.4M Series B funding round for its CPV systems in April; the firm has also garnered a significant amount of Federal stimulus funds for its expansion.
