Amazon Betas Gets Greenlight
It looks like Ed Begley, Jr., is hanging out at Santa Monica technology coworking and tech hangout ROC--thanks to a new online series being piloted by Amazon.com. Amazon.com officially announced the greenlighting of a new, comedy pilot called Betas, centered around what it described as "four computer geeks and their quest for nerd fame". The comedy pilot, which is set in the "land of Silicon Valley start-ups", is actually being filmed at ROC Santa Monica, the real-life, startup coworking space which recently opened in Google's old Santa Monica offices.
Amazon said that Betas is the eighth comedy pilot added to its lineup, and will be avialable for free on Amazon Instant Video, LOVEFiLM UK and LOVEFiLM Germany. The stars of the pilot are Ed Begley Jr., Jon Daly, Joe Dinicol, Margo Harshman, Charlie Saxton and Karan Soni.
ROC--along with CrossCampus, Amplify/NextSpace, Coloft, Blankspaces, and Hub Los Angeles--are just a few of the coworking spaces in Los Angeles which have become the de-facto hangout locations for local startups and high tech companies.
