Alume Biosciences Gets $5.5M
La Jolla-based biotechnology startup Alume Biosciences announced that it has raised $5.5M in a Series A funding round, to go towards its products. According to Alume, the funding came from angel investors, including co-founder Chrysa Mineo (formerly of Receptos and Neurocrine Biosciences) and Dan Bradbury (co-founder and Executive Chairman of Equillium, Inc. and former CEO of Amylin). Alume says it will use the new funding for a Phase 1/2 study of ALM-488, an intravenously administered peptide-dye conjugate for fluorescence highlighting of nerves during surgery.
