AeroVironment Names COO
Monrovia, California-based AeroVironment, the developer of unmanned aerial vehicles and electric vehicle charging systems, said late Tuesday that it has named Tom Herring as the firm's Chief Operating Officer. Herring was previously Senior Vice President and General Manager of the firm's UAS division. AeroVironment said the newly create COO position was created to support its growth plans. Roy Minson, the firm's current Vice President and Deputy General Manager, UAS, becomes SVP and GM of the company's UAS segment. AeroVironment's unmanned aerial vehicles are used by the military, and its electric vehicle chargers are being deployed as the electric vehicle market starts to ramp up.
