Aerovironment Licenses Targeting Software

Monrovia-based Aerovironment, which make unmanned aerial vehicles for the military, said yesterday that it has signed a licensing deal with an Australian company. Aerovironment and Australia-based Sentinent said they are in an exclusive, global license to distribute Sentinent's automatic target detection software for use on its small, unmanned aircraft systems. The software detects moving objects in a video. Aerovironment said it is using the software with its Puma, Raven, and Wasp systems. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
