Aerovironment Accused Of Covering Up Explosives On Commercial Airliner
Monrovia-based unmanned aerial vehicle maker Aerovironment has been accused of covering up an incident where its employees transported a drone, rigged with explosives, on a commercial flight, according to a report from Bloomberg. The report says a complaint--filed by the former head of security of Aerovironment's top-secret government programs--says that AeroVironment employees carried an explosives-laden drone on a commercial, Delta flight with around 230 passengers, and later retailed against the manager for telling the U.S. government. The lawsuit, Mark Anderson v. AeroVironment, Inc. was filed in the California Superior Court in Los Angeles. The smuggling incident allegedly occurred in May of 2015.
