AEG Backs UN Sports, Climate Effort
Los Angeles--based sports and live entertainment company AEG--which is behind the LA Kings, LA Galaxy, as well as Eisbaren Berlin and the Ontario Reign, said it has stepped up to support the United Nation's Sports for Climate Action Framework. The framework outlines a set of principles for the global sports community, to help combat climate change and to use sports as a "unifying tool" to drive climate awareness. In addition to the LA Kings and LA Galaxy, AEG's Amgen Tour of California bicycle race, and AEG Rugby will also work on the effort. The UN effort has teams commit to "principles" including undertaking systematic efforts to promote greater environmental responsibility; reducing overall climate impact; educating for climate action; promoting sustainable and responsible consumption; and advocating for climate action.
