Activision Delays Game, Reaffirms Estimates
Santa Monica-based Activision Publishing announced this morning that it has delayed the release of one of its highly anticipated titles, Blur, but reiterated its calendar ear 2009 outlook. Activision said it has moved the release of Blur, which is focused on racing, from 2009 to 2010, in order for the firm's development team to "enhance" the multiplayer gameplay. Despite the delay, Activision said it is reaffirming its calendar year 2009 outlook, due to lots of demand for Modern Warfare 2 and map packs for Call of Duty: World at War. Despite the reaffirmation of its estimate, the firm did not show lots of confidence in its estimates: the firm said it still sees "continuing uncertainty in the global economic climate" and a "difficult" retail environment during the 2009 holiday season.
