Accelerator/Incubator Trend Spreads To LA Schools
Southern California--and particularly, Los Angeles--has become somewhat of a startup accelerator/incubator hub over the last couple of years, as more than a dozen startup accelerators, incubators, coworking spaces, and more have set up shop in the area. It looks like startup incubation has even extended into a new, pilot middle school at the L.A. Unified School District, which says it is going to teach middle school students how to launch their own businesses.
Apparently, the Incubator School has been approved by the Los Angeles school board, and is now looking for a new campus somewhere in the area; the school was hoping to locate at Venice High School, but apparently has run into issues. The school said on its Facebook site that it hopes to launch on the Westside with 6th and 7th grade classes in the 2013-14 school year.
