174 Power Global Lands Solar, Battery Storage Deal In Florida
Irvine-based utility-scale, solar power development company 174 Power Global said this morning that it has scored a win in Jacksonville, Florida, for a nine megawatt (MW) solar plus battery energy storage system. The company said completion on the project is imminent. According to 174 Power Global--owned by the Hanwha Group--the project is its first, utility-scale direct current couple solar plus storage product. The project will provide power to Florida utility Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA), which signed a 25 year power purchase agreement (PPA) with 174 Power Global. Financial details of the deal and cost of the panels and storage were not announced. 174 Power Global said the power generated by the project will go to provide power to home and business owners who want to use solar power, but do not want or cannot install their own solar equipment as part of the JEA SolarSmart program.
